Prince Harry Could Possibly Settle Case Out Of Court Due To Hefty £10 Million Legal CostPrince Harry is suing The Sun publishers alongside forty other celebrities, and while Harry and his team have seen substantial progress – enough for him to boast about slaying dragons – he may have to back out of the fight due to the amount it’d cost him.

Prince Harry Faces “Impossible” Cost If He Continues Case Against the Sun

Prince Harry is suing The Sun publisher for unlawful information gathering and hacking. However, he’s not doing this alone.

On Wednesday, British actor Hugh Grant bailed on the case and settled due to discovering the huge bill that comes with pushing on with the case. Grant also released a lengthy statement expressing his decision to walk away on X.

In light of this, Harry’s lawyer David Sherborne has suggested that the Duke may have to go down the Hugh Grant route.

He said “the Duke of Sussex is subject to the same issues that Sienna Miller and Hugh Grant have been subject to, which is that the offers are made that make it impossible for them to go ahead.”

He went on to add that lawsuits with NGN usually end with the claimants being forced to settle.
For Grant, while he’s settling out of court to avoid the enormous bill, he did not accept any of their hush money.

The ‘Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves’ star said he was offered “an enormous sum of money to keep this matter out of court,” which he did not want to accept.

He added: “But the rules around civil litigation mean that if I proceed to trial and the court awards me damages that are even a penny less than the settlement offer, I would have to pay the legal costs of both sides.”

“My lawyers tell me that that is exactly what would most likely happen here. Rupert Murdoch’s lawyers are very expensive. So even if every allegation is proven in court, I would still be liable for something approaching £10 million in costs. I’m afraid I am shying at that fence.”

The same goes for Sienna Miller who settled her case in December 2021. However, Miller openly admitted to being paid “substantial damages,” although the publisher continued to deny any liability.
