Prince Harry has become known for viewing himself as a victim of the royal family since childhood. And so the Duke of Sussex came up with a podcast concept that built on his self-perception.
Harry offered Spotify a series of interviews in which he would interview famous individuals such as Donald Trump about their own childhood traumas.
However, the Duke of Sussex didn’t exactly succeed with his pitch. And another of Harry’s podcast ideas, involving Pope Francis, fell through as well. Get all the details below.
Prince Harry Pitches Podcast About Childhood Traumas
The Duke of Sussex wanted to come up with some unique ideas for a podcast. And so Prince Harry decided to use his self-perception as a royal family victim.
As a result, the Duke of Sussex pitched Spotify a podcast involving asking individuals such as Vladimir Putin, Donald Trump and Mark Zuckerberg about their childhood traumas. However, rather than enthusiasm, Spotify execs felt baffled, said insiders via Page Six.
But Prince Harry didn’t stop with that idea. And Meghan Markle’s hubby, 38, also suggested interviewing Pope Francis about religion. The Duke of Sussex’s other ideas ranged from discussing fatherhood to talking about general concerns such as climate change. However, Spotify employees viewed Harry’s pitches as “questionable.”
And one problem concerns the individuals who Harry wanted to interview. Putin, 70, and Zuckerberg, 39, tend to avoid discussing their personal lives in interviews. And talking with Donald Trump about his childhood at this point in his political life also seemed impractical. As a result, none of Harry’s ideas ever became reality.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle hoped for a wealthy future due to their $20 million-plus deal with Spotify. However, the company dumped the Duke of Sussex and Duchess of Sussex because they failed to attract enough viewers. And that means Meghan’s Archetypes podcast will not get a second season. Because Meghan and Harry failed to produce sufficient content, they also didn’t get the hoped-for multi-million payout.

Social Media Shades Duke And Duchess Of Sussex
During her podcast season, Markle, 41, invited celebrities such as Serena Williams, Mariah Carey, and Paris Hilton to talk with her. But she produced only 12 episodes, reportedly disappointing execs. However, a spokesperson for Meghan indicated that she plans to move her podcast to a different platform. “Meghan is continuing to develop more content for the Archetypes audience on another platform,” said the rep.
But since then, rumors have soared that Markle didn’t actually do some of her interviews. However, Andy Cohen defended the Duchess of Sussex. And he shared that she interviewed him for her podcast. But social media threw shade at both Meghan and Harry. For instance, one critic claimed, “Meghan only interviewed the ‘stars’ — Serena, Andy, and Mariah. The rest of her guests that she deemed as ‘non-entities’ were passed over to her producer.”
And another critic trolled Prince Harry. Reflecting on the Duke of Sussex’s desire to interview famous people based on their childhood traumas, the critic commented, “In other words, he has nothing going on up there. How does he host these Invictus games, all the while seeing himself as NOTHING MORE than a victim?” And another chimed in, “He makes his two minute speech and garners PR until the games are over.”

Prince Harry went from being my favorite Royal to a man that makes me sick. I’ve NEVER seen anyone so willing to throw their family under the bus over and over again as Harry has done and I’ve known some pretty sorry assholes in my 72 years in this Earth. But, Harry? I detest that whining brat. He’s stated in several various mediums that his Mother would be so proud of him or so happy for him. Uh, dude, NO SHE WOULD NOT. She was a class act, you & your idiot wife are just an act. There is absolutely nothing about you the whiner and Meghan the Manipulator a source of anything but total embarrassment to your mother. I think she would be as shocked and baffled as everyone else.
I’m a strong Trump fan but if he ever let’s Harry interview him, EVER FOR ANY REASON, I’ll not be voting for him and THAT’S A PROMISE.
The MARKLES both make me disgusted all the time and furious most of the time. I also see his wife stepping away from him and pulling together her own thing because Harry is publicly starting to come apart. Harry has made himself into almost a man without a country.
