Insider Reveals Key Prince William Move That Was A Step Away From King Charles’

Prince William is a true statesman through and through, and he’s not about to allow the stuffy and ancient parts of the Monarchy to keep him from creating a lasting change.

When Charles became the ruling monarch in 2022, he left his former post vacant for his son and heir to inherit. That post is known as the Duchy of Cornwall and it comes with impressive estates as to make your mouth, or even your eyes, water.

However, according to Alastair Martin, who worked on the Duchy under both Charles and William, a lot has changed since the 42-year-old Prince took over.

One of the ways Martin observed this change comes in the form of the type of communication both royals are open to. He told the Times that William gave him his phone number from day one and said, “If you want me, just get me, just message me.”

For Martin, moving from Charles’ landline to William’s WhatsApp felt like an “overnight adjustment.”

Martin said: “That’s how [William] works and he’s very involved. There will be weekends when my WhatsApp messages will be in double figures and I will be very responsive. If something has gone well or badly, I will want to tell my boss and he’ll be straight back.”

Former Foreign Secretary William Hague On Prince William’s Proactive Approach To Projects

The Prince of Wales has launched a few projects these past few years. From the environmental awards’ organization Earthshot Prize, to Homewards, and so on, you can tell that William is committed to building a structure that works as fast as possible.

Hague told The Times: “He phoned me up when I left Government. He had this idea—Governments were working slowly on illegal wildlife trade, and he asked, ‘Why don’t we get the private sector involved?’”

“William isn’t interested in lengthy meetings or endless discussions. I’ve often heard him say, ‘There’s been too much talk, we need action’.”

He continued: “William is friendly and personable, but he is results-driven. You wouldn’t want to tell him you’ve made no progress. He wants to see real change.”

William is also said to favor the “projects not patronages” approach to royal causes.
