Queen Elizabeth What is going on with Queen Elizabeth II. The Monarch’s health has been the main subject, with many wondering about the true nature of her health. Just a few days ago, she missed the Remembrance Sunday ceremony.

Now, Buckingham Palace has shared that she will remain on light duties for the remainder of the year. Here is the latest news on the Queen’s health.

Why Did Queen Elizabeth Miss Remembrance Sunday?

Queen Elizabeth II backed out of the Remembrance Sunday service due to a back sprain. There were no details given as to how the Monarch suffered such a painful injury. We can immediately rule out horseback riding. She has not ridden her horses since September when she stated that she was “uncomfortable” when she rode.

According to Hello, that is not the only event she missed. On Tuesday, she missed the General Synod. This is the Church’s national assembly. As the Queen is the head of the Church, she is always expected to attend. Previously, she has attended this event that takes place every five years, in the past 51 years. This is her first miss.

The Queen has suffered uncharacteristically bad health in the past month. She has missed some major events and was even hospitalized for one evening. Although the Palace claims she was in hospital for tests, she has not been very active since her brief stay.

The Queen Told To Rest

The official statement on Queen Elizabeth is the need to “rest.” According to Marie Claire, this is the only statement that Buckingham Palace has been sharing. They first shared that the Queen can still perform “light duties.” The official statement said, “Following advice to rest, The Queen has been undertaking light duties at Windsor Castle.

Next, they continued with what the royal doctors are recommending. “The doctors have advised that Her Majesty can continue to undertake light, desk-based duties during this time, including some virtual Audiences, but not to undertake any official visits.”

In other words, she can Zoom or sign documents, but she is not leaving Windsor Castle anytime soon.

That seemed to be the case on Wednesday. AT Windsor Castle, the Queen held an audience with General Sir Nick Carter. This was on the relinquishment of his appointment as Chief of the Defence Staff.

The Queen’s Duties For Remainder Of 2021

Will the 95-year-old Monarch participate in any royal functions before 2021 is over? She will not. Thankfully, this is the quiet time of the year for Queen Elizabeth. There are some questions on whether she will host the annual Diplomatic Corps reception. This white-tie event usually hosts over 1,000 guests. However, it is likely that the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall, and the Cambridges will take over her duties.

In addition, she plans on hosting her family at Sandringham for Christmas. Hopefully, the Queen will be able to enjoy some healing family time over the holidays and start out strong.
