Royal Family News: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle UK Exit May Have Irreparably Damaged The Monarchy

British royal family news shows that the audacious exit of Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex and his wife Meghan Markle from the United Kingdom and his royal family may have irreparably damaged the monarchy. Their controversial move, known as Megxit, has been a heated talking point among royal watchers ever since the pair, who insist they be called the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, fled to the US for a better, ie, richer life.

At Least One Royal Expert Is Now Opining That Megxit Has “Weakened” The Crown

Some actually see Meghan and Prince Harry’s split from the Royal Family as some kind of mutation for the House of Windsor, as they demand to be treated as royal in the US, where they now live in California.

But at least one royal expert sees the bizarre experiment as diluting the Royal Family brand and reputation. According to Clive Irving, speaking to Express.co.uk, “I think it has weakened the Crown because it has basically exported them to another hemisphere. They are like a branch office of the Windsors, a separate business in the US, and they are being very successful in that I think.”

But he notes that they could, “have been a very useful influence at home.” Meghan and Harry fled the country and officially stepped down as senior royals on March 31.

Since fleeing the UK the two have raised eyebrows by signing lucrative yet controversial deals with the streaming platforms Netflix and Spotify.

This summer and fall however they were accused of interfering in the US Presidential election after blasting their views on podcasts and television, despite the royal family policy to keep out of politics. Maybe Harry forgot to tell his wife that members of the Royal Family remain politically neutral and don’t blabber on as she did?

Meghan did not openly back any candidate but her calling Donald Trump a misogynist and telling everyone to vote for change pretty much signaled her support of Joe Biden.

Apparently Meghan And Harry See Themselves As Capable Of Being More Than Pretty Centerpieces

Irving claimed that Meghan and Harry did not have a place in the Royal Family because they did not want to be, “royal furniture.” According to him, “Harry has a very strong memory of what his mother did and what her role was. And what is there for someone like Harry to do other than do good works? He doesn’t want to be a piece of royal furniture, he wants to be a very positive and active person.”
