Dr. Charlotte Proudman, who often talks about the royal family and current events on British talk shows, took to her Twitter account to write, “There is no contractual relationship between a child and the British press.

The tabloids exploited Prince Harry when he was a child & his mother had just died after she suffered press intrusion. They used his mental health to sell papers. That’s not a relationship that’s abuse.”

Of course, it didn’t take long at all for both royal fans and critics alike to weigh in on the matter. Some commented with, “Harry has long been the ongoing target of unlawful information gathering activities starting from his childhood. Even losing his Mother didn’t stop the gutter press attempts to gain information about him.

The unrelenting, intrusive nature of the press must be held accountable,” along with, “Every senior royal from sprout up would be well aware and groomed as to how the press works. I suspect that a lot of people who took pics of Harry and co, would have done so with selling them to the press. Tax payers funded his life, they had a right to know.”

Was The British Tabloid Press Too Aggressive On Harry?

Another critic wrote, “I don’t disagree. However the tabloid culture that you are referring to, especially in the UK, has changed dramatically. The death of Diana, Princess of Wales was a catalyst for change. Our press is more regulated than ever now.”

So far Prince Harry himself has not made any comments about the matter.
