TLC’s “90 Day Fiancé” franchise has become quite popular among reality show fans, and although two spinoffs, namely “90 Day Fiancé-B90 Strikes Back” and “90 Day Fiancé-Self-Quarantined” were filmed largely via ZOOM, it is still one of the few shows that have been able to maintain some production during the pandemic. Now that production is opening back up in many areas, the “90 Day Fiancé” franchise has two more spinoffs in the works!
90 Day Fiance – Two Shows Will Have A One Month Gap And Return In October
So far, one existing show, “The Other Way” will have a one month gap but will return in October. Another spinoff, “Darcey and Stacey” has just recently begun showing on TLC, although that too was filmed largely before the pandemic. The original “90 Day Fiancé” first premiered in 2014.
All of the shows are based on couples who have had one partner in the United States and the other in a foreign country, but the original show only followed couples after one of the partners received the K1 visa, which is a spousal visa allowing the foreign partner to come to the United States to marry the American partner. “90 Day Fiancé-Before The 90 Days” follows couples before the foreign partner receives their K1 visa or the American partner traveling to the foreign partner’s country.
“90 Day Fiancé-The Other Way” usually involves the Americans moving to their partner’s foreign country for good. “90 Day Fiancé-Happily Ever After” follows up with couples from past seasons, and “90 Day Fiancé-Pillow Talk” features past couples from all shows as they watch the seasons that are currently airing. In addition, there are some online-only shows such as “The Family Chantel” which features Chantel Jimeno.
TLC 90 Day Fiance – Two New Shows Were Announced During The Edinburgh International TV Festival Panel
Recently, at the Edinburgh International TV Festival panel, the President and General Manager of TLC, Howard Lee, spilled that there are one or two more shows that they are actively working on as spinoffs in the “90 Day Fiancé” franchise. Lee advised that TLC always makes sure to pay attention to what their fans are saying and posting on social media, to make sure that they are not overdoing spinoffs or oversaturating their viewing market. He added that they have been very fortunate so far and that viewers want more.
Lee said the two new shows are still on the drawing board, although they definitely will focus on dating and relationships, implying as is true with the other shows, one partner American and one partner foreign. He continued, saying they may be in a “docu-follow” format as the current shows or they may wind up as a social experiment, and they are very open to those options.

If they were focused on plain old dating then they would have to have a hook to draw viewers in – and the cast members would have to be extraordinarily compelling. They are not looking for anyone especially glamorous, although some of the women in recent “90 Day Fiancé” franchises have made it a point to be glamorous! TLC shows are about real people, and Lee stresses that the new shows, although similar, should also be unique!
