Big Brother spoilers and updates tease that Big Brother season 25 is right around the corner and with that, there are a lot of rumors, teases, and chat about the upcoming season and the show altogether.
Celebrity Big Brother Spoilers – Controversy
In seasons past the 24-hour live feeds have caused Big Brother to receive a lot of criticism for racism and discrimination. BB fans will recall that back in season 15, Aaryn Gries called a fellow houseguest who was Asian, “squinty-eyed,” and another houseguest who was black, “Aunt Jemima.” But it didn’t stop there, she told another Asian houseguest to “go make rice.”
Amanda Zuckerman was also from season 15 and she also had her fair share of racist remarks towards her houseguests. She called a black houseguest, “the black mamba” and “the dark night.”
Fast forward to season 24 and BB still couldn’t get a handle on the racism and discrimination. BB fans flooded social media about the bullying that was going on in the house against the former beauty queen and winner, Taylor Hale, and called it “reprehensible.”
These are only a few examples, there are many, many more. This brings up the question, have the producers ever discussed eliminating the 24-hour live feeds?
Celebrity Big Brother Updates – Eliminating 24-Hour Live Feeds
In some ways it would make sense to eliminate the feeds, this would definitely put a stop to the racist and discrimination controversies. But, as Allison Grodner says, they always discuss eliminating the feeds but at the same time, “it’s tough, it’s also what makes the show unique. There’s so much that happens in the house, and it’s hard even with three hours of primetime to really tell all the stories. What the live feeds give us is another way.”
Big Brother’s producers do “extensive” research into the player’s backgrounds, they really try to find the red flags before they are chosen as houseguests. Most of the controversy comes from the live feeds, the footage that is not aired on the shows. Regardless, the powers that be at Big Brother have no plans to eliminate the feeds, according to Allison who promises that there will be something special this season, different and relevant. Host Julie Chen Moonves says she is most excited about “I am most excited to see who from past seasons might pop up and what their role is,” and so are we.
Which BB Alum do you think will pop in on season 25?
