Kirk Medas, who was popular on MTV’s Floribama Shore, passed away after being hospitalized, and it seems like such a shock. After all, ahead of his admission to a hospital two weeks ago, he shared a thirst trap pic, and he looked great. Read on to find out more.
The TV Show Star Looked Healthy
On April 12, Kirk, who starred on MTV’s Floribama Shore for four seasons, shared a nice selfie on X. He didn’t wear a shirt, and he showed off his tattoos. Incredibly, he looked well, even though he’d lost weight since season 1. So, it’s no wonder that people were shocked to hear that he passed away at 33.

Kirk Medas hadn’t captioned the selfie, but the reality TV star did joke in the comments. It came when someone said, “Not the deep fried thirst trap.” In the reply, the MTV star joked, “Double fried,” adding a laughing emoji.
Looking at the photo and considering his good humor, it’s almost impossible to believe that he passed away. TMZ reported his death after being “put on a ventilator in a Miami-area hospital [where he] had been fighting for his life.”
The Events That Led To His Death
Initial reports arrived that Kirk was in the hospital because something went wrong with his pancreas. Apparently, the organ had necrotized, which essentially means the tissue was dying. The young man had ended up in a coma, but fans hoped he would pull through.
Unfortunately, Kirk passed away on Friday, May 2. His family said that doctors said he’d passed away from “liver failure.”
Fans React To The Sad News
Viewers of the reality show that documented a group of young people sharing a summer house in Panama City Beach, Florida, took to the comments of his pinned post. It wasn’t the thirst trap pic, but also showed him looking healthy on March 30.

One fan wrote in the comments section, “Rest in peace, Kirk.” And another follower wrote, “RIP. Thank you for the smiles and laughter.”
