Outlander Spoilers: Steven Cree Teases Ian Murray’s Exit

Outlander spoilers and updates tease that Steven Cree, who plays Ian Murray on the show, hinted that his character may be killed off. Will the latter reprise his role in the upcoming season to set up his character’s exit?

Fans may recall that Jamie (Sam Heughan) and his wife Claire Fraser (Catriona Balfe) sailed across the Atlantic Ocean and settled in America along with Young Ian (John Bell) after the latter was kidnapped. They left Scotland and stayed on Fraser’s Ridge. But they may have to return to their hometown soon after receiving heartbreaking news about Jenny (Laura Donnelly) and Ian Murray (Steven Cree).

Ian and Jenny were last seen in Outlander back in season 3. It was the time when Ian was kidnapped. There’s little to no mention about them after that incident. But things may be different when Outlander season 6 premieres.

Cree dropped hints on what viewers can expect from his character. The actor teased that he knows his character returns in book seven and he has a good idea of what his fate will be.

“I think the very first fan convention I ever did, someone said ‘You know that you die, by the way’ and that was in 2014, so it is funny how quickly that time comes around,” the actor said.

Outlander Spoilers – Steven Cree’s Missed Appearance on Outlander Season 5

Cree explained that he was supposed to appear in Outlander’s season 5. However, he was forced to miss out on his storyline because of his stint in Discovery of Witches, where he played the role of Gallowglass.

The actor said that he’d love to go back to the show. He thinks it’ll be a nice end to his character if the show decides to follow the storyline.

“Not that I wish him to die – and full circle for the character,” he added.

Jamie Fraser Returns To Scotland?

If this happens and Jamie learns about Ian’s unfortunate demise, he may be forced to return to Scotland on Outlander. Without Ian and their child, Jenny will need all the support she could get. This may be enough reason for Jamie and Young Ian to come home.

Starz shared a new clip for Outlander season 6, which allowed fans to see what they can expect for the upcoming season. In the short video, Claire and Jamie discuss a new person arriving at Fraser’s Ridge. Outlander is scheduled to air on Starz on March 6, 2022, at 9 p.m.
