The Good Doctor season 3 returns with new episodes on January 13, 2020. That date is quickly approaching and finally, there is some new information on what to expect. For one, Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore) will still be processing his abusive father’s death. Plus, there seems to be tension brewing between Shaun and his girlfriend, Dr. Carly Lever (Jasika Nicole).

As fans recall from before the hiatus, Shaun went to visit his dying father with Dr. Aaron Glassman (Richard Schiff) and Lea Dilallo (Paige Spara). His father ended up dying, but not before unleashing more abuse on Shaun. His mother claimed it was the morphine, but that doesn’t erase the pain or trauma for Shaun.

Moving forward, expect Shaun to still be processing his father’s death. Plus, there’s that certain hug that happened between Shauna and Lea.

The Good Doctor Spoilers– Tension Rises For Shaun Murphy’s New Relationship

The Good Doctor season 3, episode 11 will also feature tension between Shaun and his current girlfriend, Carly. How will he handle the romance with Carly, especially after the hug with Lea made him second-guess his choices? This will come into play when the series returns to ABC. The truth will come out and expect Carly to discover the events that occurred in her absence.

She will already be unhappy Shaun took Lea instead of her on the trip. To find out that something happened between the two will definitely add more conflict and tension to their relationship.

The Good Doctor Spoilers– Shaun Murphy’s Relationship With Lea Complicates Things

It is teased that fans should expect Shaun to try and process the intimacy he felt with Lea during the Wyoming trip. While the concept isn’t totally lost to him, he also doesn’t realize the “full implications” of what happened.

Considering Carly has never liked Lea and Shaun’s friendship, her finding out about the embrace will make her angry. It is indicated that Shaun will try to make it up to Carly, but it might not be enough. Could this mean the end of a romance, but perhaps the beginning of another? Fans will have to watch the episode when it airs on January 13.
