Unfortunately for Paul Wesley’s fans, the actor said it would be a “hard pass” for him. Speaking to InStyle, he said, “I would never do another vampire anything, period, let alone Vampire Diaries.”

“I don’t really miss anything about playing him, and I don’t mean that in a [negative way],” he continued. “Eight years is a long time, and I’m so glad to put that to rest. Eight seasons.”

While he doesn’t miss playing his character because he has had enough, Wesley shared what he loved about playing the role throughout the entire series.

“Because the show ran for such a long time, in order for it to not become monotonous, every season, he sort of had a different arc,” Wesley said.

“At one point he was pure evil, and he started out as the good guy and then he ended as the good guy. But I liked the challenge of trying to keep the character fresh.”

Even Ian Somerhalder Is Also Not Keen On A Reboot.

He said that it’s amazing enough that the show will live on forever, even when the series as ended. “What would happen? … Damon would have like, gray hair and they’d have canes. Like, ‘Oh, I’ve got to feed the baby.’ Listen, it ran a great course. Now, it’s still living. That’s what’s so amazing,” he said in a previous interview with SiriusXM’s Radio Andy.

“We’re going to continue to be able to watch it and I think that’s a really interesting new thing about this modern digital world,” he said in an EW interview. “I think it’s good to close this chapter. There’s something beautiful about closure.”
