The View – Joy Behar Wants Whoopi Goldberg’s Job

On the latest broadcast of The View, Joy Behar says she has her eye on Whoopi Goldberg’s job. She thinks she would be the perfect fit.

The 67-year-old comedian was missing from the live show after she tested positive for COVID-19. The View returned premiered Season 27 after the Labor Day weekend.

The current panel lineup includes Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Ana Navarro. The ABC talk show carried on without the moderator.

Joy Behar felt comfortable in that spot. During the episode, Joy hinted to executive producer, Brian Teta, that she would love to have Whoopi’s job full-time.

It all started when Brian asked Joy how she prepares for a live show when she’s in the moderator position. Joy shared that she lives for this kind of work. This is the kind of job she’s used to doing since she had her own talk show.

“Well, I enjoy moderating. It’s no secret that I like it,” Joy Behar admitted. “I had my own show many times, and I like being in that position. I guess maybe I’m a control freak.”

Brian added: “A little bit.” Joy added: “OK, I’ll accept that.” Joy kicked off the Tuesday, September 6th episode. The View returned from its summer hiatus.

Viewers believed the rumors that Whoopi wasn’t returning to the talk show. Some of them assumed that she was fired and Joy ended up with her position.

The View – What Happened To Whoopi Goldberg?

During the live broadcast, viewers took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to post their concerns. Joy Behar sat in Whoop Goldberg’s seat as she revealed what happened to the Oscar winner.

“As you can see, Whoopi is not here today,” Joy explained. “She has COVID.”

Whoopi will be back in her spot later this week. Joy was the moderator for Tuesday and Wednesday’s live shows.

Whoopi briefly appeared via Zoom. She joked that she wasn’t filming a movie or attending the infamous Burning Man Festival.
