TV Reboot News: Brandy Norwood Says Moesha is Coming Back to Television

TV Reboot News - Moesha

Those that grew up in the 90s probably remember some of their favorite TV shows. There is a good chance that one of those includes Moesha. Singer Brandy Norwood portrayed the main character back then and it sounds like she is going to bring the show back. Keep reading to get the details on the teased TV reboot.

TV Reboot News – History of Moesha

The original TV show aired on UPN beginning in 1996. It concluded its run on May 14, 2001. Brandy starred as the main character, Moesha Mitchell. It followed the high school student as she navigated life with her family while attending school and living in the Leimert Park area of Los Angeles, California.

It was originally pitched to CBS, but the network rejected it. However, UPN picked it up as a mid-season replacement and it was a success. The show dealt with difficult situations that many teenagers faced in the 90s (and still do today), such as drugs, teen pregnancy, losing a parent and racial issues.

TV Reboot News: Brandy Norwood Confirms Rumor

According to VIBE, Brandy and her Moesha co-star, William Adam Young confirmed that they are bringing Moesha back to television. Brandy said,

“Yeah, absolutely. I’m here for it. I’m here to solidify that we’re gonna bring Moesha back.”

Some viewers are loving that their old favorites are coming back. However, others wonder why new shows aren’t being created. It is all a matter of preference, I suppose.
