Earlier this year, it was announced that the Discovery Channel was bringing back Top Gear America. There is finally an update. It was recently revealed the two people selected who will be hosts of the TV reboot. Keep reading to get all the information known so far about the upcoming series.

TV Reboot News: What is Top Gear America?

According to the official website for the television series, the hosts of Top Gear America review exclusive and state-of-the-art cars, as well as vehicles from the culture-defining past. Viewers are put in the driver’s seat as the hosts take motors on scenic highways and historical roads. Each week, a different celebrity races in order to get the highly coveted top score on the leaderboard.

TV Reboot News: Original Discovery Channel Show

The BBC America TV show began airing in 2010 and concluded its run in 2016. For the original series, it was presented by professional race car driver Tanner Foust, racing analyst Rutledge Wood and actor/comedian Adam Ferrara.

TV Reboot News: Top Gear America Updates

According to TV Insider, it was announced in April 2019 that the show was being brought back. However, don’t expect the same hosts as last time. In the reboot, Dax Shepard and Rob Corddry will host the show. Also expect to see motoring journalist Jethro Bovingdon.

The publication printed a statement from MotorTrent group global president and GM Alex Wellen,

“What an extraordinary trio to add to the storied history of the Top Gear franchise. We can’t wait to share their exhilarating adventures as they traverse American car culture with each new episode of Top Gear America.”

TV Reboot News: New Top Gear America Premiere Date

An exact premiere date for the reboot has not been announced yet. However, an American take on the BBC series is expected to hit television screens sometime in spring 2020.
