The Young and The Restless spoilers tease that Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) will be setting some boundaries with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) in an upcoming episode of The Young and The Restless!
The Young and the Restless Spoilers – Billy Abbott Says He Wants To Just Be Friends But Is Acting Like He Wants More
Billy keeps saying that he wants to just be friends but he’s acting like he wants more. He is telling Amanda maybe a little too many of his intimate secrets and she senses him getting just a little too emotionally close, and she knows that since he and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) are having some problems, that talking about those kinds of problems intimately to someone of the opposite sex, who is not his mother or his sister, can bond him inappropriately to her.
Amanda decides that she is going to have to set some boundaries if they are to continue being friends. They have talked about his lying to Victoria about his meetings with Amanda, and if they are truly just platonic friends and that’s what he really wants, then this shouldn’t be happening. It seems that he must subconsciously want more from her and more with her.

Boundaries – something Billy doesn’t like and doesn’t want to hear. Is Amanda trying to tell him he has to behave in certain ways and think certain things and be what someone else expects him to be like Victoria does? Amanda explains no, that is not what she means.

Boundaries are to keep people safe, mentally and emotionally. It means if the relationship is beginning to become unbalanced, then boundaries allow it to balance out by pulling back a little bit here or maybe moving forward a little bit there.
Setting – and keeping – boundaries keep people from having false expectations of the relationship and the other person in the relationship and being hurt as a result. Amanda’s putting the idea of boundaries in those kinds of terms is not so scary and not so restrictive. Instead of feeling like a leash, and control, like Victoria makes it feel like, it’s more like a fence with plenty of room to run around in.
The Young and the Restless Spoilers – Billy Abbott Thinks Maybe He Can Give These Boundaries A Try With Amanda Sinclair
Billy thinks with Amanda making these boundaries sound more like protection than a restriction; maybe he can give them a try. Amanda is not rejecting him, she’s just trying to keep things safe and from either of them getting ahead of the other emotionally.
That’s a lot easier for Billy to take than feeling like he’s being pulled around on a leash. However, there’s still the thing that for some reason he feels not really guilty about their friendship but still feels like he has to hide about it. That’s one thing that he doesn’t understand – maybe because deep down maybe he really does want more from Amanda than friendship?
