The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Camryn Grimes Interviews Sharon – Behind The Scenes Stories Shared

CBS The Young and the Restless updates and spoilers document that Camryn Grimes (Mariah Copeland) and Sharon Case (Sharon Newman) have stayed in touch during the production shutdown. Not only are they longtime colleagues, but they’re also off-screen friends.

Grimes used her Instagram account to interview Case split-screen style, offering fans a behind-the-scenes peek into each actor’s life during this period of quarantine.

Case debuted on Y&R in 1994. Grimes joined the cast in 1997 and was famously written out in 2005 when her then-teenage character (Cassie Newman) shockingly died. But she rejoined the show in 2014, playing Sharon’s previously unknown twin daughter, Mariah.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Sharon Case Enjoying Pause In Life

Case surprised Grimes when asked how she’s been doing during this forced time off from work. Case said that she’s actually been enjoying it.

Except for a break last year, during her twenty-fifth anniversary on the show, Case hasn’t had any time off through the years. So, she’s been making the most of the current pause in life.

Case and Grimes’ comments about Y&R’s traditional work schedule reminded viewers of the demanding schedule of soap stars and their off-screen colleagues deal with. While both actors are highly respected in the industry and have earned their fame, this part of their conversation reinforced the real-life nature of show business.

Young And The Restless Updates – Behind The Scenes Intel

Grimes used Twitter to generate a series of questions that both people responded to. An interesting query involved each person’s entrance into the acting world.

Case said that she wanted to be a ballerina when she was a girl. That led to her getting commercial work, which allowed her to get a coveted Screen Actors Guild (SAG) card. Through the guidance of a manager, many years in acting school, and persistence, Case achieved sustained career success.

Grimes said that her uncle, Scott Grimes, is an actor. When she was approximately five-years-old Grimes began telling her grandmother, who was a talent agent, that she wanted to follow her uncle’s path and began going to production sets where he was working.

While her grandmother initially refused, she eventually allowed Grimes to pursue her passion. The then very young actor booked some commercials, an episode of JAG, and then Y&R.

Among many other topics, Case touched on her trepidation when starting a new storyline and Grimes spoke about her uncertainty when Y&R asked her to return to the show and play Mariah, who is the polar opposite of Cassie.

Fans are awaiting the continuation of Sharon’s cancer storyline. She’s facing surgery that isn’t as invasive as initially thought but also doesn’t represent the end of her health fight. Mariah, along with Sharon’s other children, Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso), and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) have all been strongly supportive, which has helped Case’s character to remain in good spirits.

Mariah appears to be re-establishing her connection with Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks), though enough time hasn’t passed in that regard. Grimes’ newest alter ego just lost her position at Power Communications and is facing a career transition, or evolution, depending upon what opportunities arise.
