Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) claims to be responsible for the accidental death of a man on ‘The Young and the Restless’. That happened while Grossman’s character was suffering from amnesia at some point during the past few years. ‘Spider’ assisted Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz), who was working undercover for the authorities.
Viewers recently saw Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) pull a file from a cabinet that’s adjacent to a living room at the Newman Ranch. News clippings and other papers were contained in it. One saved story highlighted Cliff Wilson’s (David Cowgill) accidental death that was caused when he was hit by a drunk driver, or so the reporter believed.
The other clipping involved another unfortunate circumstance, where Alyssa Montalvo’s (Maria DiDomenico) father is said to have fallen from a barn loft to his death. Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) was the first to raise suspicions about Victor after Adam recalled seeing him at the time his childhood friend’s father died. That sparked Adam’s positioning of Alyssa, a crime reporter, who he wants to investigate these unearthed stories.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Las Vegas Actions Reconsidered
It’s a very soapy that Adam and Chance just happened to meet each other while Boaz’ character was working on a case. Even more so is the fact that Adam helped Chance in a fully dramatic way, which earned deep loyalty.
It would be interesting if the Las Vegas, Nevada, time period is somehow also connected to what happened in Kansas many years ago. It might be too much of a stretch to link A.J. Montalvo (a character that is not yet known to be cast) to modern times unless his death was faked.
If the man Adam apparently killed has nothing to do with A.J. or Cliff for that matter, then a path to Victor could still exist. Braeden’s character may already know what his son did in Vegas, or will find out because he’s Victor. In either instance, that knowledge could neutralize Adam.
Y&R Spoilers – Cliff Wilson’s Money Woes
Adam has a friend at a bank in Kansas. That person granted him access to his mother’s (Hope Wilson, Signy Coleman) records. Since she was married to Cliff before he died, Adam also saw transactions that Cowgill’s character made.
The large deposit that was noted in Cliff’s account caused Adam to believe that an underworld loan may have been received due to financial hardships his stepfather was enduring. There is no series of follow up payments that combine to equal the initial deposit’s amount. Adam perceives this as circumstantial evidence of Cliff having received an underworld money transfer from A.J., who served time in jail for being a loan shark.
There are a number of assumptions being made. One of them seems to preclude the possibility that a very wealthy man provided the deposit to Cliff. Yes, Victor.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – A.J. Montalvo’s Demise Questioned
Maybe A.J. simply fell from the barn loft, as believed, and died as a result of his injuries. If not, then the foul play is surely possible.

An unknown number of shady figures could have orchestrated, or directly caused A.J.’s death considering his ties to criminal figures. But Adam’s belief is that Victor was directly involved.
Victor could have committed the same type of accidental act in Kansas as Adam did in Vegas. Then again, A.J. and Victor may have struggled, with Alyssa’s father having lost the fight.
