Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) realized that he loved Summer Newman (Hunter King) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. That came as an unwelcome surprise for ‘Kola’ fans who witnessed Kyle express his undying love for Lola Abbott (Sasha Calle) and then marry her months ago at a big wedding ceremony.
Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) has a close connection to both people, with Kyle being his youngest son and Summer being the child he delivered in an elevator at Newman Enterprises all those soapy years ago. Jack’s love for them quickly allowed him to embrace this dramatic change in both of their lives, with Kyle getting a divorce from his wife to be with Summer and King’s character finally reclaiming her true love.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Skyle’s History Reconsidered
The reboot of ‘Skyle’ isn’t outlandish, as Kyle and Summer do have a history. But it’s fair to cite a few plot points in this regard.
As hardcore fans recall, five actors have portrayed Kyle since 2012, with Mealor being the fifth edition. Except for a brief period in 2018, when Bayley Corman (Summer) played the character, King has filled the role since 2012. So, ‘Skyle’ can’t reasonably be cited as one of Y&R’s epic couples, which can partially be defined through length, depth, and the on-screen chemistry between two long-standing actors.
Mealor has portrayed Kyle since 2018. He was serious about Summer when she literally drove to Genoa City, Wisconsin, upon King’s return to the cast after a break due to her being part of the cast of the nighttime sitcom, ‘Life in Pieces’.
King’s character was purposely devolved two years ago, with Summer breaking from Mariah Copeland’s (Camryn Grimes) inspired tag as a ‘Snowflake’ into a person who was almost all about herself, similar to her mother, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford).

Y&R Spoilers – Summer Newman Knew All Along
Summer said from the beginning that Lola wasn’t right for Kyle. It was easy for him to shrug off Summer’s take as biased because he knew (believed) that perspective reflected hopes, instead of reality.
Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) also believed he saw a mismatch between Kyle and Lola after he came to GC and decided to stay. The later revealed blood cousin also came to fall for Calle’s character, which incensed Kyle to a degree that went beyond the planned wedding crash, which included Zoe Hardisty (Anna Grace Barlow).
Johnson’s character’s break from Summer allowed her to more openly express her feelings for Kyle, which he eventually came to return. That meant the end of ‘Kola’.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Nick Newman And Rey Rosales Aren’t On Board
Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) isn’t on board with the latest pursuit of Kyle. He’s seen Summer hurt before and doesn’t trust that Kyle has his daughter’s best interests in mind.
Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) wasn’t sure about Kyle from the start. Beyond being protective of his sister, Rey believed that Kyle’s background wouldn’t fit Lola’s. As it turned out, big brother was right.
As this ‘Skyle’ sequel takes hold both halves of this reformed couple will try to sustain what was once and may again be love.

It’s pure bs and won’t last. Kyle has been in love with Lola since the day they met. He was over Summer and told Jack he hadn’t wanted her in years. He even went to far as to tell him specifically that in NY he used Summer and their breakup to lure women in by pretending to his friends to be nursing a “broken heart”. So this rewrite of Josh Griffith’s isn’t working. No one is buying it but Skyle fans.
Thank Lia for comment and observation .Yes noone is buying even some Kyle and Summer fan that how the story was badly written. The story was abrupt and way off script for Lola & Kyle .Kola story exposed Josh Griffith and sad & terrible writing skills. Kyle character throw under a bus for waste of time story plot. Everyone saw that Kyle and Lola love each other but the writers was lazy they couldnot do a better story for fans but cheating , lies about Kyle and Lola character just wastless drama that made no sense to fans. we fans saw kola story and will never believe when Kyle was with Lola is love was not divided ,he loved only Lola . The writer main a important point about Kyle and summer ,they donot have epic love story because kyle character has change more times.Kyle has more time with Lola than summer. I said Kola is epic story and far better than Kyle and Summer.
No, kyle didnot had a sudden change heart about summer ,it was poorly written unless he had brain problem that they could write in the script .Kyle never showed his loved was divided ,it was alway Lola and previous writers wrote kola characters Josh Griffith never understand it so wrote quick break up which fans never or could understand. Lola attitudes, Kyle behaviour change for no reason. When Kyle broke up with summer we fan understood where it came from and why,but not Kola break up .It came out no way and the reason given made no sense at all. The way Kyle and Lola expressed they love and fans fell for them ,you cannot destroy it in week lol it a shame and sad. We know its fiction but it must carry some realism to story. The writers should have let Kyle and Lola marriage runs its course and may be they have some traumatic experience make seek comfort and separated not divorce. It too late the BS story plot is already in place lol The character Kyle and Lola spent lost of screen time ,so they love story will always be epic. Kyle is far better man/person with Lola . Kola perfect together. The way they wrote Kyle ,I honestly can seen lola taking any time soon.
Kyle and Summer will always fail at relationship too much alike and lust between them. Kyle need someone different and he will soon find out once and for all why he and Summer will never work. Its a shame Lola will not take him back at least not now. I think Kyle care for Summer and once loved her but what he had with Lola he will never have with Summer. That`s true mate . Kyle had happiness now lets see how deal with hardship and awakening reality he lost the love of his life.
Kyle and Lola have always been hard to watch. No chemistry between them. They just don’t match. Never believed he was genuinely in love with Lola. You can tell he was playing a role, trying to be someone he’s not. He finally got tired of not being able to be himself.
