Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) has a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach on ‘The Young and the Restless’. No, it has nothing to do with the Thanksgiving feast he had at the Ranch with his family, or the visually delicious selection of leveled desserts that adorned part of ‘Niktor’s’ living room.

In his mind, Nick believes that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) is vulnerable. Morrow’s character is right to be concerned.

Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) is Connor Newman’s (Judah Mackey) father. He’s also Christian Newman’s (Alex Wilson) father as well, which is a connected point within this developing arc.

Connor was traumatized due to what happened with Simon Black (Jeffrey Vincent Parise) at the Grand Phoenix hotel. Chelsea needs to be with her son as a result. The problem with that is that Connor is living with Adam at the penthouse.

Yes, Chelsea and Nick were romantically committed to each other a few years ago. That was after Adam was presumed dead and before Egan’s character suddenly left Nick in the lurch by taking Connor and heading south.

Longtime Y&R viewers know that Chelsea has three children. Johnny Abbott (Ryan and Holden Hare), who is Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) son, Riley Newman (Malachi Barton), who died before birth, and Connor, who is ‘Chadam’s’ second child.

Adam knows that he and Chelsea won’t be able to help Connor heal by simply offering their love and support. Their son’s comments about a monster eating him from the inside appears to represent a growing psychological problem that must be addressed.

Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) is earning academic credentials. But she’s not a licensed professional, who has experience and a track record of verifiable success. However, Adam and Chelsea feel comfortable with Sharon because Connor didn’t respond well to a therapist they tried.

Y&R fans and all who are parents must be wondering how Sharon will be able to provide the necessary support Connor needs? She wouldn’t know if he requires hospitalization, can’t schedule therapy sessions, and is unable to write a prescription, if one is needed.
