CBS Delays NCIS: Los Angeles Season 14 Finale

When NCIS: Los Angeles fans learned that season 14 would be its last, they were naturally heartbroken. However, they are looking forward to seeing how the show wraps up the individual stories of their favorite characters. Now, thanks to CBS, fans will have to wait for closure as CBS has delayed the finale episode.

NCIS: Los Angeles season 14 – Finale Delayed By CBS

After 14 years, NCIS: Los Angeles is finally coming to an end and fans are heartbroken. However, they have been promised closure in the final episode, with storylines neatly tied up for their favorite characters.

Season 14 of NCIS: LA premiered in October 2022, with new episodes coming out each Sunday with the odd hiatus. After all this time, CBS last month announced the cancellation of the police procedural series. Meanwhile, the reasons were cited as budget issues and the expense of filming the popular show.

NCIS: Los Angeles season 14 – When Does The Final Episode Of NCIS: LA Air?

While fans are heartbroken over the cancellation, they are longing to see how the various agents’ stories are tied up at the end. Meanwhile, the finale episode was set to air on Sunday, May 14. However, for some unknown reason, that final episode has been pushed back another week.

According to TVLine, the final episode will now air on Sunday, May 21, 2023. Moreover, CBS is making up for the delay by making that episode longer than normal. In fact, NCIS: LA will end with a two-hour spectacular.

Obviously, this will give the screenwriters plenty of time to wrap up all the characters’ stories without them being rushed. As readers know, a series ending on a cliffhanger always leaves fans distraught. For this reason, showrunner Scott R. Gemmil knows there is pressure to get things right, saying:

“In fact, the longer you’re on the more difficult it is because there’s so much expectation and how do you live up to that?

“We just took it on a character-by-character basis and tried to put them in a very good place in their lives and, hopefully, the fans will be happy with it.

“I think the last scene is really fun and hopeful.”

Of course, fans still have five more episodes to look forward to before the finale, so there’s that.
