HBO’s Game of Thrones was a popular series, based on the novels of George R.R. Martin. Fans were upset when the series ended after eight seasons. Even the author himself wanted to continue the series to ten seasons, but alas, this wasn’t to be. However, while the TV series is over, Game of Thrones fans can still experience the show at many of the shooting locations across Europe. Even better, they can continue to experience the Seven Kingdoms as a new, HBO-backed Game of Thrones Studio Tour starts up in Northern Ireland.
Game Of Thrones Studio Tour
The new Games of Thrones Studio Tour is set in one of the original filming locations of the series at Linen Mill Studios in Banbridge. The town is halfway between Belfast and Dublin and the new studio tour opened on February 4, 2022.
Similar to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour of London – The Making of Harry Potter, the Game of Thrones Linen Mill Studios tour is a totally immersive experience that brings Westeros to life for dedicated fans. In fact, the tour includes fully-dressed sets, imagery, original props, costumes and weaponry from the Game of Thrones universe.
Among the sets, King’s Landing, Dorne, Braavos and Dragonfell have all been rebuilt and restored by the original construction crews and artists who designed the sets for the Emmy award-winning HBO show.
World-Class Attraction For Northern Ireland
Fans have already explored many of the Game of Thrones filming locations, in Spain, Croatia and more. However, the new Studio Tour is something different and is far more evocative of the iconic HBO series.
Collider quotes Julian Moon, head of EAMA Warner Bros. Consumer Products speaking of the new Game of Thrones Studio Tour. Moon said what an incredible honor it was to open the doors to the first-ever Game of Thrones Studio Tour.
“This marks a first for Warner Bros. Themed Entertainment to launch a world-class attraction in Northern Ireland where fans can explore, up close and personal, a vast array of authentic sets, as well as a comprehensive collection of costumes, props, set pieces, and so much more.”

What’s Included In Ihe Game Of Thrones Studio Tour?
Among the attractions, the new studio tour takes fans into the iconic Great Hall of Winterfell and allows them to sit upon Daenerys Targaryen’s Dragonstone throne. When the studio tour opened, a number of the show’s cast members were at the event, including Kristian Nairn (Hodor), Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran Stark) and Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei).
Meanwhile, fans do still have something to look forward to, as the Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon, set 200 years before the original show, will premiere later this year on HBO and HBO Max.
In the meantime, fans can purchase tickets for the Game of Thrones Studio Tour. They are priced from $54.00 (£39.50/€47.35) for adults and from $37.50 (£27.50/€32.50) per child and are available here.
