Coronation Street Spoilers: Melanie Hill Opens Up About Plans To Resume Production

Viewers know that “Coronation Street” and “Emmerdale” are only a few of the soap operas that were forced to shut down due to coronavirus fears. The management chose to ensure the “health and well-being of the production teams, actors, crew, and their families.”
To make sure that new episodes last for as long as possible, the sudser has cut down episodes airing from six to three episodes per week. Recently, Melanie Hill, also known as Cathy Matthews talked about the status of the soap and plans to resume production.
Coronation Street Spoilers – Corrie Stars Are Always Communicating With Soap Bosses
Also known as Cathy Matthews, Hill opened up about the latest on the sudser in an interview with “WTAF – A This Country” podcast. She revealed that she and her co-stars are communicating constantly with the soap bosses about when filming will resume.
“We had a lovely email… off the producers saying they’re all working really hard, they’ve got great ideas,” she revealed.
“They’ve never stopped – they’re editing and trying to get episodes finished, and trying to hit the ground running, which is really heartening to hear, basically… We just can’t wait to get back,” she continued.
It seems like the soap is working on a strategy to bring back its cast and crew to resume filming once the government gives the green light.
Hill said that the soap will most likely ask only a few groups of people at a time when production resumes. She’s also confident that the soap’s team of writers will be able to come up with great ideas for new storylines.

During the early days of the coronavirus outbreak, Hill admitted that she felt conflicted with the soap’s plans to continue filming while practicing social distancing.

“It sounds cliche but it’s a family there. We were absolutely gutted when we had to stop. But it was getting weird and I was meant to be in that last [group] of filming,” Hill said.
She revealed that she was unhappy with the plan but still willing to go even if she was scared. Fortunately, Corrie has decided to halt its production and in case it resumes filming, it’ll most likely have a well thoughout out a guideline to make sure that everybody is safe.

I hope Corrie is not gone for too long, I will certainly miss the show. And, we will have to wait to see what happens with Yasmeen. Let’s hope this hiatus isn’t too long.
