Coronation Street’ – Jane Danson Praises Dark Twist On Leanne Battersby’s Story

In a Zoom interview with the media, Danson said Leanne’s current storyline has allowed her to explore new territory. She also admitted that she loves playing it out.

“It’s been nice for us all, really, as we’ve been in this sort of COIVD bubble for the last year or so, and especially with the Oliver story, it was very much contained in the hospital most of the time,” Danson explained.

She added that they’ve “been outside a bit more” although they are still not allowed to “go on location.” However, they managed to use the available space to their advantage.

The actress praised the dark twist on her character’s story. She said it was completely different from what she was doing a few months back. She got to work with new actors, learned new things, and was able to “tell a story in a different way.”

“And we’ve had some great guest artists coming in, some great police officers, and some of the heavies who are Harvey’s, and obviously Will (Mellor, who Jane revealed she had never worked with before Corrie) as well, so it’s all been really positive,” the actress added.
