Coronation Street spoilers and updates reveal Faye Windass (Ellie Leach) recently received a 3-year prison sentence for attacking Adam Barlow (Samuel Robertson). The court’s decision has left many fans wondering if Leach is leaving the soap.

The good news is that Leach isn’t going anywhere. The actress joined the cast of the show back in 2011 and she has no plans of leaving anytime soon. Early this year, the actress said in an interview on ITV’s “Lorraine,” that she plans to stay with “Coronation Street” for as long as possible.

A Corrie spokesperson also confirmed that the actress isn’t leaving the show. Faye’s current situation isn’t new. There are several other characters in the show that remained even after getting sent to jail including Gary Windass and Yasmeen Metcalfe.

After Faye’s sentencing, her family was outraged by the harsh verdict. They will do whatever they can to get her out of prison as soon as possible. In the latest episode, Faye’s family asked if it’s possible to lodge an appeal on the grounds that her sentence was excessive rather than just wait for the decision on Ray Crosby’s (Mark Frost) court case.

Viewers may recall that Ray attacked Faye and was charged with attempted rape. She lashed out at Adam, thinking that he was Ray. Unfortunately, the judge refused to consider this incident as part of his sentencing and said that he’s still innocent until proven otherwise.

Ray is still set to stand trial but it may not happen anytime soon because of the backlog of cases due to the pandemic. Now it seems like Faye’s future hinges on the outcome of Ray’s trial.
