Coronation Street Spoilers – James Baily Builds Courage

Recently, he had a run-in with a “fan” of the football team that he plays for. This almost turned violent but was stopped just in time, but the encounter with the homophobic “fan” surely had an effect on his future with the team as he was unable to play in the upcoming game. However, he will soon be motivated to come out, and it may be thanks to his father. As he will see his father, Ed stands up to a racist at the Bistro and will decide to return to football training. He will hope that he will be able, to be honest with his team about his sexuality.

When he arrives, one of his team-mates makes some derogatory remarks about James being gay. James decides to just make a joke of it, which causes the others to laugh along with him, and he finds support in his team-mates. James’ concerns are eased as he comes out to his team, especially after seeing how supportive they are towards him.

Things get easier as Tommy Orpington assures that he is doing the right thing by coming out and that he will be backed by his other players. James was still concerned that the manager might not see things the same way as his team-mates do. Nathan Graham, who plays James decided to talk about this with Digital Spy, “I don’t know what’s to come myself, but I would imagine it’s going to be a long journey. But I think if we’re exploring the issue, there’ll be a lot to come.”
