Coronation Street spoilers reveal that in Weatherfield Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) lies to everyone about going to France. Instead, she hides away in the flat consumed by her grief. As others are ringing in the new year, Leanne overdoses on sleeping pills. It is Simon Barlow (Alex Bain) who finds her lifeless body and calls for help.

Leanne Battersby’s Lie

Corrie spoilers reveal that after Oliver Battersby’s (Jeremiah and Emmanuel Cheetham) death, Leanne tells everyone that she is vising some family in France. However, she is really hiding out in Nick Tilsley’s (Ben Price) flat. He won’t be there due to him staying with Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) for the next three months. All by herself in the flat, she peeks out the window and sees Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) doting on her foster baby. She sees Nick and Sam enjoying the holiday season. She makes sure nobody can see her but gazes sadly out the window at them.

Corrie Spoilers: Consumed With Grief

Even though it’s not good for her to be alone in her state, Leanne doesn’t want any company. She doesn’t want to be a burden or pity case. She just wants to be left alone. Losing her child is bad enough, but to have everyone oh so jolly during Christmas is a bit too much.

Overdoses On Sleeping Pills

Coronation Street spoilers reveal that Leanne will overdose on sleeping pills while she is in Nick’s flat by herself. She takes some sleeping pills and lays down on the couch. At some point, Simon (Alex Bain) comes in and sees Leanne’s (Jane Danson) lifeless body. He panics and calls for an ambulance. However, when Leanne wakes up, she insists that it was not an intentional overdose. She claims that it was not a suicide attempt, she just wanted to sleep.

Coronation Street Spoilers: A Mother’s Anguish

After the overdose, Leanne is embarrassed and promises she just took one pill too many. Simon is stunned to find out she lied about going to France and has been all alone. The grieving mother breaks down in front of Simon and he stays with her. He did miss a date because he was busy dealing with the crisis, but he insists that it’s time for him to take care of Leanne.

Nick comes by and asks Simon why the ambulance is there, but he covers for Leanne as she slinks back into a hiding spot. Even though he has good intentions, this really is a bit much for his young shoulders. Will Simon tell Nick or Toyah what is really going on so Leanne can get the help she needs? Or could something tragic end up happening? We will have to keep watching the ITV soap to see how this story ends.
