ITV Coronation Street star Samia Longchambon, who plays Maria Connor, recently gave her thoughts about what her character might do when she learns about Gary’s dark secret. One of the biggest storylines on the show right now involves Gary played by Mikey North and Sarah Barlow who is played by Tina O’Brien. This storyline has taken a dive into the past actions of Gary as he tries to hide what he did to Rick Neelan.

Coronation Street spoilers – Gary Windass’s Secrets Revealed

Gary’s attempt to cover up his past actions were exposed when Sarah learned about Rick’s death. However, Gary would go on to confess his love for Sarah after saving her from being hit by a car. Sarah also covered up what Rick did by lying for him. During an interview with Digitial Spy, Samia spoke about the ongoing storyline.

During the interview, she went on to say, “From Maria’s point of view, they are in a good place. Ali has left, so her head and heart is all for Gary.I think Maria does trust him. She’s so silly, isn’t she? She wants to believe in a fairy tale as always, and to some extent thinks Gary is her Prince Charming, who stood by her and forgave her for the indiscretion with Ali in the barbershop. She trusts and loves him and thinks they’ll live happily ever after.”

Samia loves working with Mikey and thinks that Maria and Gary should stay together, “I love working with Mikey, so I’d say yeah! But I don’t know, it’s a really tough one. In some ways, they are, as they are both single parents. They have got lots in common, they have known each other for years and they get on well, but there’s a whole other side to Gary that she doesn’t know about and anyone in their right mind would say: ‘Run as fast as you can’. So in some ways, they are, in some ways they are not.”

“Maria would be furious and devastated that she’s potentially about to be married to a murderer, especially after her first husband, Liam, was murdered and she got engaged to his murderer! Maria has not got a great track record with murderers and everyone dying around her. I hope she’d run a mile, but you never know with Maria.”
