Coronation Street spoilers and updates reveal the ITV show has reintroduced a familiar face on the Street as part of Sean Tully’s multi-level marketing scam.
Sean (Antony Cotton) has been building his wealth through a pyramid scheme called Double Glammy by recruiting his friends and family to it. With the ITV soap’s latest episode, the latest recruit Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) was encouraging a woman named Carol to become a member of Sean’s team.
Sean, who’s starting to get guilty over putting his loved ones at financial risk, felt more regretful of the idea of his old mate Carol being scammed and manipulated now that she is financially starting on her own.
A tension heated the atmosphere when Sean refused to sign her up for the business. Carol thought she was rejected because she wasn’t attractive enough. Carol’s recruiter, Daisy, was also confused about Sean rejecting a potential business partner.
“I might have done some things I’m not proud of, but if you can’t help an old mate when they need it, stuff you,” Carol said angrily. However, Sean couldn’t say straight to her face that he was only protecting her.
Coronation Street Spoilers – Once A Friend
Carol is not a stranger to the cobbles nor to Sean. She appeared in a short stint a few years ago and was played by former Emmerdale star Emma Hartley-Miller.
Carol’s former storyline crossed with Sean when both were living rough on the streets in 2018. Sean was asked to leave Fiz Brown and Tyrone Dobbs’ home and ended up begging on the streets and living in a tent in the park.
Carol tried to help him by providing him names and locations of hostels and soup kitchens to lay his head down. One scene that made them close was when Sean was brutally beaten and mugged off his remaining money by two men in park toilets. Carol brought him to an encampment of rough sleepers.
Carol last appeared at the end of August 2018 following Billy Mayhew’s discovery of Sean’s struggles.
Viewers are yet to discover Carol’s reason for being back in Weatherfield. Although it’s clear that Sean feels indebted to all her help in the past.
