General Hospital Spoilers: Victor is Dead — But Is It Permanent?

General Hospital spoilers leak Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) might be gone, but the trauma he has left in his wake is just getting started, and there is no promise that we won’t see him again. That being said, his reappearance in Port Charles doesn’t inherently mean he didn’t die in the explosion aboard The Haunted Star. Victor’s departure may seem final, but Charles Shaughnessy believes otherwise.

He told Soap Opera Digest that he’s “not convinced Victor is completely gone,” citing the tendency for characters like Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers) to come back and haunt dreams. Shaughnessy sees the potential for Victor to make a return as well, as there’s always use for a villain on canvas. While he did confirm that Victor is taking a sabbatical for now, Shaughnessy hinted that the door has been left open for future appearances. We can think of a few ways his return to the screen would apply.

General Hospital Spoilers — Spencer Cassadine Will Face Repercussions

Victor was minding his own sinister business when his great-nephew, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez), snuck up on him and gave him a strong blow that sent him to the ground.

Spencer took off with the pathogen — all in a day’s work. When the autopsy on Victor comes back, it’s going to reveal he was already dead at the time of the explosion — leading to a whodunnit investigation in Greenland that could see Spencer being extradited and sent off to prison for killing the murderous maniac.

GH Spoilers – Tease Valentin Cassadine Isn’t In The Clear Either

Valentin thought he was on his last leg before Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) showed up to save his life. Their connection pulled him through so he could hang on long enough for Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) to show up with the antidote that Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) had the foresight to stow away. Shew! That was a close one.

As Valentin sat strapped to a chair in isolation, sweating out the pathogen that was taking over his mind, he had hallucinations of his mother, Helena.

Now that he thinks his dear old dad is dead, too, we can definitely see something similar on the horizon for Victor’s character. Will the pathogen have long-standing effects on Valentin? Are there more hallucinations in his future?

Victor now joins Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) off-screen, waiting for a reprisal that may never come. If Victor was ordering Mason Gatlin (Nathanyael Grey) around as he played watchkeeper over Nik, perhaps Victor is recoupering alongside his nephew and hoping to brainwash him into taking over the world with him when he wakes up.
