AGT’s Isaac Atkins Has Fans Asking: ‘Where Have You Been?’

America’s Got Talent (AGT) Season 21 brought some incredible talent, and among the top contestants is Isaac Atkins. He’s a sergeant in the US Army, and right now, his popularity is climbing as people ask where he’s been hiding out his whole life.

A Deep Voice

Although there’s only one video of his AGT performance on YouTube right now, he’s got a TikTok and he’s also on YouTube.

The number of followers shows that he’s pretty strong competition for the first round of the finals, and he certainly got Mel B excited the first time he stepped out on the stage.

Isaac Atkins hadn’t even started singing yet when Mel asked him to stop and introduce himself again because she loved his voice.

A History of Singing

It turned out that he wasn’t well known outside of the Army, and he said that his fellow soldiers encouraged him enough to participate. But most of his vocal practice came from singing in his car.

Isaac, who hails from Lewiston, Maine, got a lot of praise, not just for his voice but also for his service to his country.

The 23-year-old made the audience laugh because he said that he squeezed in a few days’ leave to follow his dream and sing on a real stage.

Social Media Rise

Isaac Atkins had already built a following on social media, but lately, it’s skyrocketed. When Mel B gave him her golden buzzer in the third round of auditions on the talent show, he found a lot more social media followers.

The song he chose for his debut was Måneskin’s “Beggin’,” and soon, Mel B and Sofia Vergara were dancing in their seats. Then the audience started reacting to the vibe, and nobody felt shocked when the golden buzzer arrived.

According to Aloha State Daily, Atkins now has more than 118,000 followers on TikTok. Actually, it’s even higher now. That’s up from a following of about 61K followers.

YouTube Followers Seem Happy

Over on YouTube, Isaac Atkins, whose handle is @SingingsoldierIA, has a more modest number of 985 subscribers following him, but his music is being noticed.

He’s only got 27 short videos of himself singing in his car, but one of them revealed what folks are saying about him.

One person in the comments wrote, “Congrats on the golden buzzer on AGT bro.” And another admirer said, “Just watched you on AGT! You are fabulous! My husband retired after 28 years in the Air Force. So thank you for YOUR service! I would love to see you make it big just like Elvis did!”

Meanwhile, another viewer said it right for the folks at the back: “Where the heck have you been? Why haven’t we heard from you sooner dude? I can’t believe how much I love your voice!!!”

The Live Shows

Mel B’s Golden Buzzer sent Isaac Atkins straight through to the live shows. So his newfound fans don’t have to wait long to see him again. That’s because the Season 21 Live Quarterfinals start on Tuesday, August 18. The segment runs through to September 8, but whether he’ll be as well received remains to be seen.
