American Idol Execs Consider Katy Perry’s Replacement

Katy Perry shared her desire to leave the show. American Idol executives are scrambling to find her replacement. They considered the eye of hiring Miley Cyrus, but they shunned the idea because of one thing.

A source close to the ABC competition series spoke to The U.S. Sun about Katy’s possible replacement. They fear that the “Flowers” singer isn’t “family-friendly” enough.

“They are looking at several options on how to replace Katy,” an insider told The U.S. Sun. “Names like Jennifer Lopez and Shania Twain… are in the frame because they have worked on the show before and are ‘safe’ faces, but there is a push for Miley.”

However, there’s one problem with Miley. She might be too risque for the family-friendly series. Still, Idol producers agree that she would be “perfect” to judge the show and grab headlines.

Miley can also offer advice to the contestants since she grew up in the spotlight as a young girl.

“There is ‘casting drama’ over Miley, not about her talent or career, but her ability to be controversial,” the source explained.

“Some senior figures at ABC have concerns about the risque and open nature of Miley saying or doing something which is not necessarily family-friendly. The production team is inclusive and LGBTQ+ friendly, but Miley is very outspoken and always herself.”

American Idol Fans Already Found Replacement

The American Idol fans want to have a say in this matter. Some names like Demi Lovato have been thrown around.

One of the top names on the list on Jennifer Lopez, who was a judge for Seasons 10 and 11. She also returned for Seasons 13, 14, and 15, when the show aired on FOX.

“J.Lo will be asked to come back,” an insider told DailyMail.com. “When people come back, things work. People like nostalgia, and people like Jen. It would be a big get to get her back.”

Jennifer Lopez is someone who loves nostalgia. She also believes in second chances. Fans would love to see her back in the music competition. They think she is the perfect fit alongside Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.
