Amy Duggar King Doesn’t Want Her Children To Know Their Famous Duggar Cousins: Here’s Why

Amy Duggar King has been very critical of the Duggar family following the Josh Duggar scandal, especially as she feels as if the rest of the family banded together to protect the father-of-seven from child porn charges. For this reason, Amy does not want her family associating with them.

Amy King – Says Trust Is Completely Broken After The Family Refuses To Be “Honest”

Amy King shares three-year-old son Daxton with husband Dillon King. During her youth, Amy appeared on several episodes of “19 Kids and Counting,” alongside her uncle Jim Bob, aunt Michelle, and their 19 children. But she hasn’t said any good thing about the family recently, not since she found out that Josh, who is a father to seven young children, watches child pornography.

Not even during his trial did his family speak out against the hideous crime, and it’s concerning to Amy, to the extent she believes her son won’t get to know that side of his family.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, King said she doesn’t know how to reconcile with the Duggars after their many controversial stances and actions, adding, “I don’t know if he’s ever really going to get to know them, which I hate to say.”

Touching on the drama that the family has been wrapped up in in recent years, she said, “I hope eventually they can be honest and they can be upfront … but I don’t know. I don’t know.”

“The thing is with trust is obviously it can be broken in an instant. Right? But it takes a long time to heal. It takes a long time to really trust someone,” she continued. “And so for me, I feel like that trust is completely broken. If you’re going to cover up abuse, then, you know, if you’re not going to protect your kids or your children back in the day, I’m going to protect mine.”

The former reality star added, “If you are struggling in any type of area, you kind of have to hide it and it festers up and it turns into, you know, something evil and monstrous. And so for me, I have to protect my little boy from that.”

You can’t blame her: the family did shield Josh Duggar when he sexually abused several young girls, two of whom were his own sisters.
