Gerry Turner From Golden Bachelor Reveals His Book

Since his quickie divorce from Theresa Nist, the ABC alum has been busy with travel, and physically, coping with life after his bone cancer diagnosis. But he’s not sitting and brooding in his bedroom and is keeping himself very busy.

The fact that he was writing a book slipped through the rumor mill. So, it was a surprise when People reported on it this week. It is called Golden Years: What I’ve Learned from Love, Loss, and Reality TV.

What Is The Book About?

If nothing else, the title suggests that even in their 70s, seniors have things to learn. According to the synopsis on Amazon:

In Golden Years, Gerry chronicles his grief after Toni’s death, his unbelievable experiences on The Golden Bachelor, and the life-altering lessons he took away from both. Rich with behind-the-scenes insights into filming the show and hard-won rules he lived by when putting himself back into the dating world, Golden Years tells [his] complete story for the first time.

Only recently, ABC has discovered that Gerry Turner is dating someone new. So, it’s not clear if Lana, in her fifties, will be in the book. She used to be in a video production company and she is also a retired teacher. Perhaps she encouraged Gerry Turner to write his new book.

When Will The Book Launch?

The book will launch on November 4, and it is available to pre-order right now., The hardback will be available at $30 and the Kindle version at $19.51.

When the news made it to Reddit, fans seemed unsurprised but not thrilled about the next step for Gerry. Many people still feel furious that he led Thersa Nist up the garden path, to the altar, and then dumped her months later. 

One of them said, “This is the natural order of things, I’m not surprised he’s coming out with a book.”

Another commenter wrote, “It’s part of the trio as much as you do: podcast, book, dancing with the stars.”
