Golden Bachelor: How Theresa Nist Is Getting Over Gerry Turner Divorce

The Golden Bachelor was a wild success for ABC, and we all thought Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist would live happily ever-after. 

The Golden Bachelor and his new bride shocked the internet earlier this month when they announced on Good Morning America that they had filed for divorce.  Theresa Nist isn’t letting a little thing like a divorce get in the way of her living out her golden years though.  Here’s how she’s getting over Gerry Turner.

The Golden Bachelor was a brilliant idea, and Gerry Turner turned out to be reality TV gold.  However, there’s one problem with helping senior citizens find love. 

After 60 plus years on earth, they are SETTLED.  Most of the women Gerry dated were doting grandmothers and established in their communities.

Once you hit your golden years, uprooting your home for the past decades and leaving your family to marry someone in a different state isn’t really practical.  

Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist are living proof of that.  Neither Theresa nor Gerry wanted to leave their home states and friends and family to move in with the other. 

The couple seemed to have a very friendly divorce.  It’s not that they didn’t want to be together, it was just a logistics nightmare and they eventually threw in the towel.

Theresa Nist – Doing Just Fine After Divorce

Don’t worry about Theresa Nist though, she’s doing just fine and has found a new hobby to keep her mind off of her split from Gerry Turner. 

Theresa took to social media this week and shared some snaps of her garden with a powerful message. 

The Golden Bachelor star wrote, “Gardening has been a constant source of joy in my life.  It feeds my body, mind and soul. It does you a world of good. You’re out in fresh air and sunshine (or clouds and rain) and your hands are in dirt (wear gloves!). You’re getting plenty of exercise, pushing a wheelbarrow, pulling weeds, pulling the hose to water everything and walking everywhere.”
