‘Golden Bachelorette’ Joan Vassos Brings On The Romance

Joan Vassos was announced as the lead for the first installment of The Golden Bachelorette and now it looks like the season will be full of good old-fashioned romance. And, the ABC star from Gerry Turner’s Golden Bachelor looks keen to enjoy every minute of it. 

Joan Vassos Got Some Of Gerry Turner’s Backlash

ABC fans know that Gerry Turner married Theresa Nist and then, three months later, they got a divorce. Angry fans slammed the lead, the show, the producers, and everyone they could think of. But it wasn’t the fault of Joan Vassos. Still, people claimed they didn’t want to see any more seniors in the franchise.

Joan Vassos was even accused of deliberately self-eliminating so she could land the role of the first lead in The Bachelorette. Of course, other people could have been chosen. So,  people who loved Leslie Fhima felt aggrieved that she wasn’t asked back. Well, it turns out that Joan doesn’t seem to care what other people think.

The Golden Bachelorette Brings Lots Of Romance

On Instagram, the account of @thegoldenbacheloretteabc shared a teaser for The Golden Bachelorette. In it, Joan said that if she saw another older woman looking for romance and new love, then she would back them up. Next, some of her male contestants were shown with her in some romantic settings. 

Joan Vassos walked through a natural area holding the hand of one of her men. In another scene, she playfully said that she believes in “love at first sight.” One competitor even went scuba diving with her, and they held hands underwater. Excited, she can’t wait for the season to begin.

ABC Fans React

As Bachelroette Jenn Tran had an unsatisfying season, people started to look forward to the new edition of the Golden Bachelorette. Actually, it seems that the more teasers they see, the more Joan grows on them. Here are some of their thoughts from the comments section:

• This is so much more exciting to watch than the boring bachelorette that just aired. Joan is such a beautiful golden girl with so much generosity I hope she find[s] the purest love of all on her journey.
• About time they give older singles a chance at love. It’s so encouraging to see this.
• Every 60 year old woman deserves it .. like you said in one of your interviews, we really are limited and we won’t know if we get that second chance. Cannot wait to see your adventure.
