For luck in marriage, brides seek something borrowed and something blue. And when The Golden Bachelor star Gerry Turner tied the knot with Theresa Nist, she found both. Well, sort of.

What viewers didn’t see? Theresa actually needing to borrow something to fix a wedding dress malfunction. And that happened even after ABC contributed in arranging a ceremony highlighted with famous Bachelor Nation alums in attendance, per Showbiz.

But as it turned out, Theresa also felt blue over a ring snafu. And The Golden Bachelor runner-up and officiant Susan Noles spilled the tea on what happened despite producers and a network working for a flawless live televised Golden Wedding show.

Owner of the wedding officiant company Nuptial by Noles, Susan felt excited to participate in Theresa’s ceremony. But as she just revealed on a podcast, The Golden Bachelor contestant encountered a challenge with the wedding rings.

And prior to the ceremony, producers showed Noles a container of rings that the ring bearer, 6-year-old Henry, would carry. But producers made it sound simple. And they reassured Susan, “All you have to do is pull this ribbon. It will slide right off.”

However, as it turned out, someone pinned the rings into the ribbon. “So, I’m tugging, and I’m tugging,” she recalled. “And I’m looking up at Gerry, and he starts manhandling it. But once he took the pin out, then the ribbon did.” And Susan explained that someone put in the pins so that Henry wouldn’t drop the rings along the way.

But then Theresa encountered a wedding dress malfunction as well, revealed Noles. Nist looked exquisite in her Badgley Mischka mermaid gown. And features included off-the-shoulder straps, a sweetheart neckline, floral embroidery, and a tulle skirt. Mischka also created chiffon gowns for the four bridesmaids.

And Theresa shared that she felt “overwhelmed” to see the “incredibly gorgeous gowns from Badgley Mischka.” But to choose, she tried on a variety, ultimately selecting the one that everyone “unanimously thought” was the winner.

But that winning gown proved problematic. And as Gerry and Theresa prepared to kiss before the live TV audience, a strap broke. However, producers managed to use something to reattach the strap amid a commercial break. And Nist hid the problem by changing into a different dress for the reception.
