Meghan Markle And Prince Harry’s Netflix Deal Called Just A Press Release

Meghan Markle And Prince HarryBritish Royal family news reveals a royal commentator tore down Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Netflix dreams, saying that all they’d given Netflix so far was the “world’s most expensive press release”.

Royal Commentator Believes Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Have One Shot To Keep Their Netflix Deals

The Sussex couple made a decision in early 2020 to quit their roles as senior working royals and become “financially independent”. A few months after their famous exit from the royal family, they signed lucrative deals with Spotify and Netflix to produce multiple contents for both media platforms, including documentaries, children shows, animations and others.

The pair now live in a $14 million mansion in the elite neighborhood of Montecito, located near a beautiful beachside.

Harry Lost The Family Support Quickly

Harry went on to tell the world during the couple’s two-hour sit-down with Oprah how his family cut him off before they found a foot to stand on after their exit.

This prompted a response from Prince Charles’ spokesperson, who made it clear, when the Clarence House accounts were made public in June, that Harry’s claim was wrong, as he received a substantial sum of money from Charles following his exit. The Duke of Wales reportedly stopped aiding him financially when he signed the multi-million dollar deals thereby becoming completely independent.

He May Have Lost The Fans Support As Well

Commentators are doubtful about how happy Netflix and Spotify bosses are regarding the couple’s delivery on their investment so far.

Dianiela Elser is one of the skeptical ones who are doubtful that the pair will be able to produce content that can give Netflix and Spotify a good return on their investment.

“While on one hand TV and feature-length projects take years to get to the screen, on the other,” royal writer Elser wrote for news.au.com, “what has Netflix really gotten so far for their estimated $133 million investment in the Duke and Duchess?”

“Sure, their signing was a huge publicity coup but so far all the streaming giant has gotten for their nine-figure financial commitment is essentially the world’s most expensive press release.”

“Harry and Meghan have a lot to prove, and fast, because they are fighting against the clock here.”

Producer Meghan

Meghan recently announced an animated series she’ll be producing for Netflix called Pearl, which will be based on a young girl of the same name who finds inspiration from influential women in history.

Harry, on the other hand, will be working on a documentary centered on the Invictus Games. It will follow military men, who were injured serving their country, as they compete in these competitions.

But as it’s been almost a year since the deal was signed, Elser is of the mind that Netflix would be expecting a bit more from their £100 million stake in the couple.

“When the Sussexes do start unveiling their slate of TV and podcasting projects they will get one shot; that is, one chance to impress audiences and make their mark either in terms of steaming figures or critical plaudits.”

“When the novelty and the lustre of working with members of the Royal Family wears off, if they don’t have streaming counts or a clutch of awards to show for themselves, then will their contracts be renewed?”

“Essentially, they will have a brief window to prove they are worth the hundreds of millions that corporate behemoths have bet on them. No pressure now or anything.”

“The fact is, even billion-dollar companies can’t afford to keep ploughing truckloads of cash into two very, very famous contractors if they do not prove to be a sound investment.”

Spotify Deal Shakey

Chairman of Reputation Management Consultants Calls Harry and Meghan’s Spotify Deal “Terrible” for Monarchy

Eric Schiffer, chairman of Reputation Chairman Consultants, expressed the same amount of doubt about Harry and Meghan’s capability to deliver on the money invested in them by Spotify. He also said that they were profiting off of their royal titles and the monarchy.

Last year, Schiffer told Newsweek that the deal would certainly be “based upon performance kickers”, saying that while the contract was “great for them”, it was “terrible” for the monarchy “because they are choosing to sell it at fire sale prices”.

“I think they are systematically benefiting from the halo of the monarchy,” he argued. “If Harry wasn’t involved no one would care about this, if she didn’t have the royal ties. There’s this reckless war on this pristine historical brand that has represented the people of England for centuries.”

As so many royal watchers predicated and time will tell……..they are nothing but hot air riding on the coattails of their former royal family connections.

I am sick of not just Harry and Megan but of many rich and famous people who just want more, more, more. The rich and famous are constantly, with no experience literally stealing opportunities from people just trying to get a start. For example how many writers struggle more now to get something published because they are not connected and famous. How many dress designers struggle to start a clothing line because they haven't first made a movie or a record. Perhaps if the haves stopped being so selfish the have nots might catch a break and be able to make a living too.
