Royal Critics Say Harry And Meghan Would Be Safer If They Still Lived In The UK

Royal critics believe that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s lives would be much different if they would have chosen to stay in Great Britain. This comes after the couple alleged that they were chased by the paparazzi for over two hours on the streets of New York City on Tuesday night. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.

Royal Critics Say Harry And Meghan Would Be Safer If They Still Lived In The UK

According to reports, Harry and Meghan allege that they were involved in a “near catastrophic” car chase that could have been deadly.

A spokesperson for the couple said in a statement: “This relentless pursuit, lasting over 2 hours, resulted in multiple near collisions involving other drivers on the road, pedestrians and 2 NYPD officers.”

Yet, some critics say that Harry and Meghan would have avoided this problem if they would have stayed in the UK. Yet, the couple moved to the United States because they thought they would be safer there.

One of the major reasons why they left the UK was because of the paparazzi and all of the media attention they were getting across the pond.

In her new column for The Telegraph, royal expert Camila Tominey puts it this way, “After what happened to Princess Diana, no one would condone the paparazzi pursuing celebrities in vehicles, not least when there were ample opportunities to photograph the couple at what was a well-publicized event.”

She also added, “There doesn’t appear to be any footage of the latest, two-hour, chase. But as Harry pursues his case against the Home Office while suing no less than three British newspaper groups – it may be worth reflecting that their safety was never compromised when they were living in the leafy confines of Windsor Great Park.”
