British royal family news shows that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince William and Kate Middleton, celebrated St. David’s Day with a fun visit to Wales. The couple wore matching green sweaters during their visit to Abergavenny Market where they heard about the close connection local suppliers have to rural communities. After they finished that visit, they headed out to a youth club in Blaenavon, and there they played a game of pool.

According to the Daily Mail, Kate’s casual yet elegant outfit included Aquatalia Rouge boots, which she wore for her first official royal engagement in 2011.

At Blaenavon Hwb, a community-focused youth center, the couple showed off their fun sides by not only engaging in a game of billiards, but William also was game to try to make Welsh cakes. As he was undertaking his task, Kate helped him out by flipping the cakes on the stove. Showing herself to be a master multi-tasker the future queen carried on a conversation with a teenager named Libby.

William was at ease with the center participants, and as he rolled and cut dough he told them, “I’m under a lot of pressure here. Do not judge my cooking, this could go horribly wrong. It’s not Bake Off. Where’s Mary (Berry) when you need her?”

Then, when Kate checked out his efforts, she pointed out the thinness of his cakes to which William said that one was, “a little bit skinny. They are probably all a little bit skinny.”

Later in the day the Cambridge’s changed clothes for a visit to a Welsh farm. There Kate enjoyed meeting the animals and interacted with a group of adorable goats. For that visit she wore a recycled Seeland khaki jacket and a red scarf. She topped off her look with black jeans and another pair of boots, this time from Blundstone.

The goats were at Pant Farm, a goat farm near Abergavenny. The farm has been providing milk to a local cheese producer for nearly two decades. Learning about the connection of the agricultural industry to rural populations was a focus of their visit, and they made the journey to Wales to mark St. David’s Day.
