British royal family news divulges that the United Kingdom’s Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex is now so unpopular among the citizens that a sizable number think he should be removed from the British royal line of succession, just as he has removed himself from the country.
Polls routinely show him at the bottom in terms of popularity among the Royals but now a new poll of over 6,000 individuals shows that a startling number think he should be removed from the ranks of those who might one day become king. There are many in front of him in line, but that doesn’t erase the bitter taste he left in the mouths of many when he drop-kicked the nation for a life of financial excess in the US.
Royal Family News: Prince Harry’s Popularity Has Plummeted
The Express.co.uk polled its readership and found that nearly all respondents want Harry kicked out of the conga line. He is currently sixth in line to the throne, behind his father Prince Charles, brother Prince William and William’s three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
Calls for Harry to lose his claim to the throne have grown steadily since he left last January, claiming his family failed to protect him and his wife Meghan Markle from bad press.
Royal Family News: A Poll Shows That Prince Harry Is Very Unpopular
A stunning majority, 96 percent (6,132 people), think Harry should give up his position just as he has given up his family and country. A mere four percent (249 people) think he deserves to keep his place in line to the throne after a year full of embarrassing and astonishing antics.
The comments were blunt with one reader saying, “He’s abandoned all royal responsibility and even adopted a new foreign country as his home,” and another saying, “They’ve abdicated so have no place anywhere on the line. Mr and Mrs Windsor is all they need.”
One reader demanded: “He wants a ‘normal’ life: give him his wish – make him a commoner.”
Royal Family News: Poll Takers Call Prince Harry An “Embarrassment for the UK”
The British royal line of succession was laid down in law in 1701, with the Act of Settlement. It stated that neither Roman Catholics, those who marry a Roman Catholic, nor those born out of wedlock, will appear in the line of succession. And for some, Harry’s name should be added to the list.
