Taylor Hale and Joseph Abdin met on Big Brother season 24 in the summer of 2022 and had been dating for six months. However, the couple split amicably after careful thought and consideration. Read on to find out more about the reality stars’ split and how they are still the best of friends.

Taylor Hale, 28, is a former Miss Michigan who won on season 24 of the long-running reality TV series, Big Brother. She met Joseph Abdin while on the show and has dated him for six months. However, Taylor, after much thought and consideration, has decided to end the relationship.

Meanwhile, the reason for their split comes down to a number of reasons, with distance being a major factor. While Taylor had previously considered settling down in Florida, she eventually realized she couldn’t see herself living there. Meanwhile, Abdin, 25, has to stay in his home state for professional and personal reasons.

‘Jaylor’ split before a cruise getaway

Moreover, the couple, affectionately dubbed “Jaylor” by fans, split right before a previously planned cruise getaway. However, they still went on the cruise together, as they plan to remain friends and it gave them the opportunity to decompress.

In an Instagram Story on Wednesday, April 19, Taylor wrote:

Joseph and I have made the decision to love and support one another as best friends going forward.

We recognize what’s best for both of our futures at this time. This decision was made with lots of love, care and acknowledgment of how special our relationship is to the both of us.

Taylor went on to thank her fans and followers for the love and support they have shown them while they went from “friends, to lovers, and now back to friends.” She added that they have seen every message about how watching an interracial relationship form impacted them, in spite of the ongoing harassment. Taylor wrote, “We’re touched by how our love has inspired you.”

Taylor and online harassment 

Meanwhile, Taylor faced ongoing online harassment for months, which even required law enforcement officials’ involvement. While she and Joseph tried their best to protect their relationship and keep it private, they have ultimately decided it is best to split.

Continuing her Instagram Story, Taylor wrote:

Joseph and I will continue to support each other enthusiastically, and we encourage you to do the same, as you always have.

Ain’t no love lost over here! We will always be part of each other’s lives. Whether platonic or romantic we are, and always will be, Jaylor.

Us Weekly wrote that Taylor and Joseph will speak more about their split when they are ready, asking that this decision and privacy be respected.
