Dynasty Has Been Renewed For A Fourth Season

Dynasty Has Been Renewed For A Fourth SeasonIt’s been announced that “Dynasty” has been renewed for another season. The show is returning for a fourth season even though it’s averaging less than 400,000 viewers and 0.1 ratings during Fridays.

“Dynasty” is a reboot of a 1980s TV series of the same name. The modern take was developed by Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage, and Sallie Patrick. It premiered in The CW in the US back in October 2017 and then internationally one day after on Netflix. The CW picked up the show for a full season comprising of 22 episodes. It was renewed for a second season on April 2018, the third season on October 2018, and for a fourth season on January 7, 2020.

The reboot made some changes to the original show. For instance, the setting is in Atlanta Georgia instead of Denver Colorado. Steven’s homosexuality was a nonissue to Blake and Sammy Jo’s character is gay instead of a woman.

Other Shows Returning Next Season

“Batwoman” and “Nancy Drew” are returning for another season. “All American” is returning for a third season, “Black Lighting” for a fourth season, “Charmed” for a third season, “The Flash” for a seventh season, “In the Dark” for a third season, “Legacies” and “New Mexico” for season three, and “Legends for Tomorrow” for a sixth season. “Riverdale” was also renewed for a fifth season and Supergirl as well.

Unfortunately, “Katy Keene,” “Riverdale’s” spin-off did not receive a formal pickup. However, The CW ordered 13 more scripts.

“These early orders for next season give our production teams a head start in plotting out story arcs and a jump on hiring staff, and this also provides us with a strong foundation of established, fan-favorite CW shows to build on for next season,” The CW president Mark Pedowitz said.

“We’ve been thrilled with the creative direction of all three new series, and even though we are in the very early stages of our new full-stack streaming strategy, which allows viewers to catch up on our new shows from the beginning, we’re already seeing incredibly positive results from our multiplatform viewership for Nancy Drew and Batwoman,” he continued.

Some CW Series Move To New Streaming Homes

The CW’s deal with Netflix has expired this year. Having said that, “Batwoman” and “Katy Keene” will air on HBO Max while “Nancy Drew” will move to CBS All Access. The other shows will still continue streaming on Netflix.
