It was reported before that Outlander production is not part of the SAG-AFTRA union. However, it is under the WGA production, which is also on strike. Both SAG-AFTRA and WGA held strike actions for fair pay recently.

These series of strikes have affected several productions, not just in the United States, but also in other countries.

Some actors, actresses, and writers are part of these unions even though they are based overseas.

The showrunner Matt B. Roberts revealed that he is part of WGA, but assured that the remaining part of the seventh season will not be impacted.

However, the production of the eighth and final season will be impacted due to the WGA strike.

What to expect in the second half of the seventh season?

Apart from Jamie and Claire, other characters such as Brianna (played by Sophie Skelton) and Roger (played by Richard Rankin) are also expected to return.
