The Good Doctor Spoilers – New Hospital Owner Omens

For hospital patients, life revolves around doctors, nurses, and other health care professionals.  But for those staff members, a change in who owns that hospital could make or break their jobs.  And that’s the bombshell dropped on The Good Doctor this season.

For Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore), an autistic surgeon with savant syndrome, the San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital feels like a home.

Gradually, Shaun has learned to communicate with his colleagues even as he saves patients’ lives.

But a new hospital owner could change everything!

During the first episode of The Good Doctor this season, we met a very curious patient named Salen (Rachel Bay Jones).

Rather than allow her medical team to analyze the mass on her kidney, Salen meandered around the hospital.  But her disruptive nature involving questioning everything and everyone eventually resulted in a shocker.

Previously diagnosed with scleroderma, Salen used her condition to test the medical team at St. Bonaventure.  Why? She had purchased the hospital!

Uh oh. The staff immediately becomes as jittery as if they’d inserted IVs of caffeine.

As a result of that premiere, The Good Doctor has set the stage for upcoming episodes to show how Salen could shake up the entire hospital!

The Good Doctor Spoilers – Inside Shaun Murphy’s Romance

But while Dr. Shaun Murphy and his colleagues face worries at work, Shaun also feels challenged in his romance with Lea (Paige Spara).  Lea struggles with nightmares about their wedding.  And that disaster of an engagement party didn’t exactly ease her fears!

But give credit to Shaun for finally understanding that he needs to support his future wife.  Will Shaun step up and do his best to plan their wedding?  Well, maybe.

The Good Doctor Spoilers – Can Shaun Murphy’s Mentor Help Him?

Dr. Aaron Glassman has become known as the mentor to Dr. Shaun Murphy.  Played by Richard Schiff, Glassman also protects Shaun in a fatherly way.

But professionally, Glassman must interact with Salen as the new hospital owner even as he supports Shaun.

Can Glassman manage to juggle his roles professionally and personally?  And how will the focus that Glassman needs to give to Salen impact Shaun as he preps his wedding?

We’re excited to see what could happen next in season five of The Good Doctor!  ABC has scheduled future episodes on Mondays at 10/9c. In addition, you can stream new episodes the following day on Hulu.
