Michele Val Jean, the showrunner and head writer of the new soap is active on X (formerly Twitter) and has recently made a couple of interesting comments and posts about it. The excitement is beginning to ramp up and according to Val Jean herself, things are looking pretty good.

The Gates Spoilers – Announcements Regarding Talent Are Coming Soon

Even though nothing is official, Val Jean took to her X page to inform fans that the creative team behind The Gates was coming together and she used the fire emoji which means she’s excited about who she’s brought on to work with to create this brand new show.

She did say that official announcements would be coming soon. So until then, we will just have to make do with this announcement that announcements are coming. It shouldn’t be very long now.

The Gates Spoilers – Michele Van Jean Befriended Tabyana Ali

Also, on X, Tabyana Ali (Trina Robinson, GH) posted some words of love to her online fans, and her haters as well.

Val Jean spoke up for the young woman and even mentioned that she tried to seek her out recently. Does that mean she’s trying to get Tabyana to take a role on The Gates?

Perhaps there is a role on the new soap that Val Jean believes Ali would be perfect for. Or maybe she wanted to introduce herself. It’s definitely a possibility that Ali could jump soap in the near future.

The Gates – The Gates Will Be Feature All New Characters And Stories!

The Gates will depict the lives of a wealthy black family in a luxurious gated community, Val Jean will serve as writer and showrunner.

Val Jean has written over 2,000 episodes of daytime drama and has won multiple daytime Emmys and WGA Awards for her work on such shows as The Bold & The Beautiful and General Hospital.

Val Jean will also serve as an executive producer along with Sheila Ducksworth, Leon Russell, Derrick Johnson and Kimberly Doebereiner.

The Gates – The Gates Is A Joint Venture Between CBS Studios And NAACP

The Gates will be produced as partnership between CBS Studios and the NAACP. They will also partner with P&G Studios, a division of Proctor and Gamble. Proctor and Gamble is no stranger to the world of soaps.

Although they don’t produce any other soaps currently, they in the past helmed shows like Another World, Guiding Light and As the World Turns as well as many others.

The Gates – The Gates Will Replace The Talk

When CBS announced earlier this year that The Gates was in development, it cast doubt on the future of The Talk. It was later confirmed that the Talk will end in December with the Gates beginning in January of 2025.

The Gates will be the first black led soap since 1989 when NBC launched Generations which lasted until 1991. Watch this space for new developments on The Gates as soon as they are announced.
