The Young and The Restless spoilers tease that in Genoa City, Wisconsin Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) will soon play hardball with Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) to defend Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson)!

The Young and The Restless Spoilers – Billy Has Been Arrested For The Attempted Murder Of Adam Newman

Billy has been arrested for the attempted murder of Adam Newman, (Mark Grossman) but the shot hit Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz). Chance had tailed Adam while looking for Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) who was missing at the time, and jumped in the way of a bullet meant for Adam.

Billy (Jason Thompson) likely has charges attached for shooting him too, and when a cop is shot, it certainly doesn’t make one a friend of one’s friendly neighborhood police department! Amanda (Mishael Morgan)  reminds Billy of this as he remains steadfast in his account that he had nothing to do with the shooting. Billy has several problems in his history with Adam that make him a prime suspect.

Y&R Spoilers – Billy Abbott Tried To Kill Adam Newman Twice But Only Once Is On Record

He tried to kill Adam at least one time and actually twice; but unless Victoria Newman, (Amelia Heinle) Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) or Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) say something about it, no one will know. Viewers will recall that Billy kidnapped Adam shortly after Delia Abbott (Sophie Pollono) died, after which Adam was presumed dead. He turned up in Las Vegas under the name “Spyder” which is where Chance found him and befriended him. The second time, Billy had developed a case of dissociative identity disorder complicated by post-traumatic stress. He was seeing Delia’s ghost.

He set up Adam to go to the spot where Delia was run over and was intending to run him over himself, but Chloe got there in time to push Adam out of the way! Billy, however, wrecked his car and suffered a broken leg. Chloe got him to a boathouse she knew of and set his leg, and she and Kevin cared for him. When he got to the point where they could tell he was really off the deep end, they called in Victoria, and she was able to get him back to reality.

The Young and The Restless Spoilers – There Is A Secret Eyewitness In Police Protection

There is a secret eyewitness in police protection who saw Billy in the area of the sniper’s perch. This is what the police have that gave them sufficient evidence to arrest him. Amanda cannot get Michael Baldwin, who is the district attorney, to make discovery available as to whom the secret witness is. “Discovery” refers to the legal process where the opposing attorneys get together in a meeting and the district attorney has to let the defense attorney see the all the evidence. Before the court date, she cannot compel him to do so.

However, he may still be able to hide the eyewitness’s identity because of the individual being in police protection, implying his or her life would be in danger if his or her identity was revealed. So, Amanda will have to find another way to fight for Billy’s innocence in court. That would be playing hardball with Michael. One way to play hardball might be to try to discredit him personally – that may be a last resort play, but effective. Longtime viewers of The Young and The Restless will recall that Amanda could find quite a bit of dirt on the DA. Early in his career, he was accused of sexual harassment by Christine Blair, now Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell)! He eventually lost his law license. He had to work as a paralegal for a while but worked his way back up.

Then, many years later, he was disbarred as a result of Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) pressuring him to represent Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) for kidnapping charges. He reluctantly agreed – Victor was accused of kidnapping Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and replacing him with a doppelganger, Mario Annicelli. Luca Santori, (Miles Gaston Villanueva) overheard Michael talking about his plans to get Victor convicted, and somehow turned it into and exposé of Michael that led to the disbarment! Amanda herself could repeat history if she digs up too much dirt on Michael and exposes it in court!
