Arnold Schwarzenegger Remembers The Time He “Crushed“ Maria Shriver’s Heart

Arnold Schwarzenegger is not leaving out any part of his life from his upcoming three-part documentary “Terminator,” not the good and definitely not the ugly.

Per a report by The Sun, the 75-year-old star delved into a very hard topic when he remembered the day he was confronted by a question about his love child’s parentage by ex wife Maria Shriver.

You can guess that the atmosphere must have grown so thin you could proverbially cut it with a knife. And yet, Schwarzenegger refused to shy away from revisiting that moment in his upcoming Netflix documentary. Here’s what we know so far.

In 2011, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver’s marriage hit a skid it could not recover from. Speaking on the documentary, Schwarzenegger remembered the moment Shriver, 67, confronted him in 2011 through their marriage counselor as regards to the parentage of one Joseph.

“She wants to know if you’re the father of Joseph,” the counselor said regarding Joseph, who was born on 1997.

“I thought my heart stopped,” the “Fubar” star confessed, adding, “And then I told the truth. Yes, Maria. Joseph is my son.”

He went on to note that the revelation “crushed” her at the time. But Schwarzenegger himself hadn’t always known for sure whether Joseph was his child or not.

You see, in 1996, the former Californian governor had an affair with their housekeeper Mildred. And in 1997, she bore a son, Joseph, but Schwarzenegger could not be readily convinced as regards to the boy’s parentage since Mildred was still married at the time.

“In the beginning, I really didn’t know,” explained Schwarzenegger. “But the older he got, the more it became clear to me. It was then just a matter of, ‘How do you keep this quiet.’”

At 25, Joseph is Schwarzenegger’s youngest child.
