In the world of Barbie, Ken always smiles and focuses on supporting his girlfriend. But in the real world, two Kens collided during the Barbie movie marketing campaign. And Ryan Gosling seemingly sparked a feud with Simu Liu as the two actors who play Ken posed together, noted E News.

The Ken war began when Ryan and Simu struck different poses on the red carpet. However, then Simu reached out and put his arm around Ryan. Gosling quickly looked down and moved away. And Simu dropped his arm. As a result of the awkward shifts, the two exchanged some words, leading to speculation about a feud.

And videos of the uncomfortable red carpet discussion between the Barbie co-stars soon went viral. But Simu turned to Instagram to deny that the Kens had begun fighting. And Simu shared, “I’d beach off with this Kenadian again in a heartbeat. He is the best human in every way, especially when he jokes around with us on the carpet and on set, infecting all of us with his kenergy.”

Director Greta Gerwig sought to get the different variations of Ken to interact in the Barbie movie. And Liu’s character and Gosling’s Ken even display some feuding in the movie. That results in the idea of “beach-off.” And Liu shared that the Kens including Gosling devoted time to working out together in the gym at Greta’s direction, reported People.

“Greta was very deliberate in what she wanted the Kens to do to bond, which was to gym together,” Liu explained. However, the actresses who played Barbie enjoyed sleepovers. “So, while the Barbies were having a nice, relaxing night, the Kens were just male aggression and testosterone, lifting things and flexing and all that. That was the chosen bonding ritual for the Kens,” he added.

But Liu confessed that he “could not beat” Gosling as far as staying disciplined about working out at the gym. And the actor admitted, “No matter how early I went, he was always there. He always stayed later than me. So I really saw the discipline and I really saw the Ken-ergy.” And Liu promised that viewers will “get to see the Ken-ergy — when they see Ryan’s torso. And the rest of him!”
