Below Deck Alum Kyle Viljoen Stuns With Career Change

Kyle Viljoen, the South African on Below Deck Med was extremely controversial, and eventually, Captain Sandy Yawn threatened to fire the Bravo star. Remember, he’d caused a lot of trouble between Third Stew Natalya Scudder, and Chief Stew, Tumi Mhlongo. But, he recently shared a stunning new career and attitude.

Leaving The Franchise Was Inevitable

For a while, the villain of Below Deck Med found a lot of critics on social media. Even when he fell very ill, he didn’t get a lot of sympathy. The news arrived in 2023, that the Bravo star suffered from a medical emergency that was extremely painful. 

His fiancé at the time, Dr. Zachary Riley rushed him to the ER where he was diagnosed with Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS), a rare skin disorder. For a while, Kyle Viljoen talked about his mental health problems, before he and his husband, Zachary tied the knot and started traveling a lot. 

World Travel And A New Career

A day ago, Kyle took to his Instagram and stunned many Below Deck Med fans as he reintroduced himself. He wrote an extremely long caption that talked about the different careers he attempted in his travels around “48 countries.” Additionally, he talked about his childhood dream to work with wildlife, but that didn’t work out. 

Next, Kyle Viljoen revealed to his Bravo fans that he became a “certified Veterinary Assistant.”  He worked at a veterinary clinic and loved it. He added, “I haven’t looked back. Every day, I witness healing, love, and the magic of caring for animals—it’s the missing piece I’ve been searching for.”

Next Level Career

More followed, and the former reality TV star explained that he’s now studying to become a veterinary nurse. Crediting  @mathewson_media for the photo, he promised that he intends to take his fans “along for the ride.” Finally, Kyle said:

Moral of the story? It’s NEVER too late. Chase fulfillment, not just paychecks. Believe in yourself. Your purpose is waiting—you just have to go after it.

Kyle Viljoen received so many nice comments from fans that he later returned to thank everyone for their kind thoughts and encouragement.
